Monoprints of rural buildings found in the countryside where I live. They invite curiosity, either because of their placement in the landscape, their apparent redundancy and lack of purpose or the atmosphere surrounding them. At certain times of day perhaps they look moody, incongruous or even sinister, and musing on the narrative they evoke occupies my walking thoughts.
Process: These monoprints are made using an etching press with etching inks on archival heavyweight paper. The original plate is made using a method known as collagraph; cardboard is textured with mark making, drawing techniques, glue and carborundum and the resulting plate is inked up and passed with the damp paper through the press several times hence the uniqueness of each print.
There are five prints in this edition, each one is slighly different - please choose from the images shown here.
